Geomoby Bluetooth Mesh

The MDT/Geomoby Bluetooth solution has been designed to give mining clients world first access to a truly wireless system for sensor monitoring.

Geomoby is an Australian based company who have invested many years in developing a long- range Bluetooth mesh network specifically for the underground mining industry, giving a host of mining companies complete visibility of their underground operations.

Through clever collaboration between MDT and Geomoby, we can offer a solution that is truly wireless – easy to deploy, cost-effective and designed to survive the rigours of a hostile mining environment.

This robust and reliable combined system consists of our SMART BLT devices recessed into the rock mass at sensor locations (preventing possible damage), that communicate with self-meshing Geomoby Bluetooth nodes to backhaul data to a gateway location and onto surface.

All nodes operate through a single button operation and require no configuration by personnel to sync and communicate over the network – making the system simple to deploy. Battery life for both the SMART BLT devices and Geomoby nodes is in excess of 5 years.

The combined solution has recently been deployed at North Parkes Mine with the following feedback:
